Comfort in detail.
The Atego provides you with a wide range of practical and comfort-enhancing functions. The line-up includes convenient self cancelling turn signals, a warning tone for parking brake and lights, cruise control operation via the multifunction steering wheel and "follow me home" lights. In short, a host of functions to make everyday life with the vehicle more pleasant.

Cockpit variants.
The different cockpit variants for the Atego are also tailored closely to operational needs. All three are notable for the ergonomic layout of all the controls and a practical array of stowage facilities, with a 320 mm engine tunnel making access easy.
Classic Cockpit.
Everything is arranged ergonomically and within the driver's reach. Soft surfaces conjure up a high-class setting. The PowerShift 3 automated transmission, for example, is controlled conveniently by means of the right-hand steering-column lever. In the case of the manually shifted Atego, the shift lever is integrated in the instrument support. The equipment includes an ashtray (movable ashtray in vehicles with manual transmission) as well as a cigarette lighter which can also be used as power socket. Additional power sockets for the centre module are available as optional equipment.
Comfort Cockpit.
With its projecting stowage unit below the instrument support, this optionally available cockpit offers additional space to complement the already generous array of storage facilities. This means that there is a place for everything, even on the longest trips. All the controls are arranged ergonomically within comfortable reach of the driver. Soft surfaces create an ambience of high quality. An environment like this simply makes working and driving more enjoyable.

Workplace Atego.
The workplace in the Atego provides a relaxed work environment conducive to good concentration. This is the result of a number of factors: from the comfortable seats and multifunction steering wheel to the on-board computer and ergonomic layout of all the stowage facilities and controls.
Multifunction steering wheel.
With eight control buttons on both the right and left, it is possible to control many functions in one place. For example, telephone calls can be answered and radio settings can be adjusted.
5" instrument cluster with video function1.
For even greater convenience and safety, this instrument cluster is prepared for use with a reversing camera51. This allows the driver to see the area behind the vehicle.
Radios.
For great entertainment, the Atego is optionally available with a radio with USB port or a radio with USB port and Bluetooth®. The optional digital radio with Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB+)3032 offers even more convenience.
Seats.
All the seats impress with a high level of comfort. The controls are arranged intuitively, the seat cushions are particularly wide and the adjustment range especially large: lengthwise up to 200 mm, height up to 100 mm.
Driver's suspension seat, standard.
The air-suspended seat features a high level of seating comfort, numerous adjustment options and a flat-weave fabric cover.
Air-conditioned suspension seat.
The optionally available, air-sprung and climatised driver's suspension seat ensures pleasant seating conditions and a high level of comfort.
Gearshift.
PowerShift Advanced.
Superior dynamic response, simple handling and low fuel consumption. The automated transmission ensures precise gear selection, short shift times, high driving comfort and a very high level of economic efficiency.
Manual gearshift.
In addition to the automated transmission, a manual transmission with pneumatic power-assisted gear shifting is optionally available. It features outstanding ergonomics and extremely precise shifting while requiring only a low shift force.
Pre-installation for multimedia use.
A universal pre-installation for the easy integration of mobile phones, MP3 players or standard navigation systems is optionally available.Voice output is via the vehicle's loudspeakers.
Stowage facilities and compartments.
The stowage concept meets the most varied requirements, making it easier to keep the cab tidy and maintain a high level of organisation and efficiency. From the large stowage compartment on the dash support to the stowage facilities in the cockpit, on the engine tunnel, above the windscreen and in the door panelling – everything is tailored perfectly to the items that need to be stowed away.

In addition to the stowage facilities in the cockpit, in the doors and on the engine tunnel, in the ClassicSpace L-cab the compartments above the windscreen and under the bed offer additional stowage space.
Stowage facility above windscreen, two compartments.
The two compartments are found above the windscreen and can be reached easily from the driver's and co-driver's seat. When specified with the optional Fleetboard system, the compartment closest to the driver is occupied.
Resting and sleeping comfort.
The Atego features various comfortable beds, when specified with an L-cab. In addition to the bottom bed that is fitted in all L-cabs as standard, for the BigSpace L-cab the top comfort bed is optional with a width of 685 mm and a length of 1865 mm.
On L-cabs an optional flexible seat/bunk combination can be configured either as a sleeping berth or as seating for up to four people.
Mattresses.
Restful sleep is assured by the high-quality 7-zone cold-foam comfort mattress. This one-piece sprung-base mattress, 110 mm thick, provides individual support for the different parts of the body while also ensuring efficient ventilation.
